Hi, I’m Satu. Here, I share about my experiences and observations in show business—from my humble beginnings as an entertainment journalist and performer in New York to my current status as a playwright and filmmaker in Los Angeles. Karakuva is my production company where I write and helm original film and theater productions.

About the Author
Satu is the writer of “Roar of the Grain,” a new play, currently in development with the Harold Clurman Lab Theater in Los Angeles. Her original musical play, “King Nigel’s Nervous Breakdown” held its LA premiere at Hollywood Fringe Fest, ‘24. The music video, “The Echo of Your Goodbye,” directed and produced by Satu, premiered at the TCL Chinese Theatre as an Official Selection of Dances With Films, ‘25. From calypso to Finnish folk, music was a ubiquitous presence in Satu’s multicultural childhood home in rural Nova Scotia, Canada. She is a conservatory graduate of the Stella Adler Studio of Acting, New York, and a member of the Dramatists Guild, SAG-AFTRA, Actors’ Equity, and Maestra. For more, visit: www.saturuna.com
